The Guidance Center as part of student services promotes students’ familiarity with facts about himself, his interests, abilities, previous developments and plans. It also assists students to find maximum satisfaction in his EDUCATIONAL, VOCATIONAL and SOCIAL-PERSONAL GROWTH.
As a Testing office, it administers psychological tests to assess students’ interests, skills, potentials, and personality identification.
RATIONALE
As an Educational Institution, PLT College, Inc. believes that an educational institution should have a Guidance and Counseling Program. It is set primordially to plan and direct the guidance and counseling program of the institution. Each faculty and staff member cooperates and assists the guidance personnel in the attainment of the goals and objectives of the programs as well as its implementation. The Guidance and Counseling Program focuses on helping students achieve full academic potential, establish and reach career goals and develop interpersonal skills that will enable the students to adjust the changing society.

Educational, occupational and personal-social information is made available to students to enhance their awareness. This covers a) job-hunting tips, and b) work-related issues.

Relevant information about students is collected for better understanding of the individual such as a) personal information data, b) test data, c) anecdotal entry, and d) interview/counseling results.

Counseling is the “HEART” of the guidance program. Counseling is available to help students come up with a wise decision, achieve self-understanding, social adjustment and to live their life towards positive change. The following are conducted a) individual counseling, b) group counseling, c) peer counseling, and d) follow-up.

Psychological tests are administered to assist students to identify and appreciate their personal interests, skills, values, and intellectual capacities. The said tests are administered every semester, two weeks after the start of classes. Schedule of the examination is given to Department Heads for easy dissemination and for their reference.

The placement/ career development is an indispensable program designed to enhance the development of students by helping them select and utilize opportunities within and outside the labor market. Students are guided in preparing for the ultimate challenges in their future careers through a) placement seminar-workshops, b) career counseling, c) career information, and d) dissemination of job openings.

A. MONITOR STUDENT’S ATTENDANCE
Instant monitoring of student’s attendance helps identify the prevalent problem, which serves as the basis for guidance and counseling. The guidance office is tasked to issue a) admission slip, b) conduct interview relative to absences, and get on referrals from concerned instructors.
B. REPORTING TO PARENTS
The Guidance Office is responsible for reporting to parents regarding student’s academic work/performances/dropping/absences or readmission.
C. SCHOLARSHIPS AND ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS
